Dinner Party

My dear sweet husband turned 32 yesterday. I can't tell you how thankful I am to have him in my life everyday. He's my constant encouragement and joy, and I love him more every passing day. I'm thankful I get to do life with him, and I can't wait to grow old together.

We normally host a big Christmas/birthday party each December, killing two birds with one stone. As much as we hate clumping the two events together, we just don't have it in us to host two big events back to back. This year we decided to go a different route.

I wanted to do something special for Lee that was just for him. We decided to throw a dinner party with a few close friends. What we thought was gonna be 'the easier route' (small dinner party vs. large christmas party) didn't quite turn out to be all that easy, but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. It was the most joyous, fun filled night I've had in a long, long time. Old records played serenading us in the background, delicious food was passed around the table, and laughs and stories were exchanged amongst good friends. It was magical.

Here are few photos I captured (as well as a few real photos our friends Jason and Heather took).

Our living room turned dinning room in order to accommodate all the guests.

I love party planning!

My awesome set of vintage green glasses for only 25 cents each at Goodwill. Score!
Lots of candles because what would a dinner party be without them?
The birthday boy with the amazing prime rib roast he cooked. Delicious!
All the guests minus me.
Table setting and party favors.
The living room moved into the dining room. It was so cozy!

The rest of the photos were taken by our friends!

We were up long after all the guests had gone home (3:30am), hand washing every dish in our house (seriously)! I can't wait for that lucky day I get a dishwasher. It was well worth it though.

Hope you enjoy!
